I haven’t set any monthly goals since July. I feel like we’re burnt out and we both need a break. A week away should be just what we need to feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle work, projects, and debt. Sometimes I feel like we have too much on our plate, then I step back and realize that our time management skills probably just plain suck.
Without further ado, my October goals;
1. Stick to the cruise budget!
When we registered our on board account I selected cash only, instead of registering a credit card. I have $500 cash and I don’t want to spend a dime more than that. In all honesty I’m hoping to spent as little as possible, without affecting the fun factor, plus we have a $60 on-board credit. However this $500 also needs to cover a one night hotel stay, parking fee’s, and gas.
2. Reevaluate our debt payoff plan.
It’s no secret that we’ve been struggling to keep up with our 5 year plan since the spring. It’s time to look over the numbers and figure out what will work for us right now.
3. Side Hustles – Ebay!
I’ve been reorganizing the house all summer and have lots of boxes and bags suitable for donation and ebay. I need to sit down and start listing some things on ebay. Then apply every penny (after fees and postage) from those sales to our credit cards. I hope to begin this as soon as we get back!
4. Make a decision on school.
Right now the kid is still enrolled in his school full-time, five days a week. I am working from home twice a week now, and I will say I’ve been able to get a lot done without the kid being around. However, even cutting him down to four days per week would save us $50/wk. That’s $2600 a year!
5. Make attorney appointment.
To get our wills done. This is something that should have been done the second I became pregnant in 2009, but something that is so easily forgotten. We can get this done free through the husband’s employers legal benefits. No excuses for putting this off!
And there you have it, five simple goals. I’m going to try to get some posts scheduled for when I’m gone, but don’t be surprised if you don’t see me post until after the 11th. I’m certainly not paying a million dollars for slower-than-dial-up internet connection on the cruise!
